Jim Hall

Legal Counsel

 

Jim Hall has over 30 years of international legal experience across a diverse range of disciplines, in both private practice and in-house positions all over the world.

 

Jim is currently the Executive Vice-President and General Legal Counsel for venture capitalists Skyview Capital. Jim has previously held senior commercial and corporate roles at Nokia Siemens Networks and at Motorola Solutions in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Earlier he co-founded and scaled a successful start-up company and saw it through profitable divestiture. Jim first developed and honed his legal acumen at two of Scotland’s top commercial law firms, where he represented pension funds, investment companies, and other large commercial property investors.

Jim holds a BSc degree in Biology and Chemistry from Davis & Elkins College and a JD from West Virginia University College of Law.

Dr. Fiona Adshead

Health and Well-being Expert

 

 

Fiona chairs the Sustainable Healthcare Coalition that inspires partnerships and action on sustainable healthcare. She also works as an independent expert advisor and board member for national and global organisations. This includes advising on person centred care, promoting health through business, economic and sustainability strategies, well-being and the built environment and at work, and technological transformation of health services. 

 

Her previous roles include: Deputy Chief Executive of the global NCD Alliance leading strategic and commercial partnerships, strategy and governance; Bupa’s Chief Wellbeing and Public Health Officer leading global commercial strategy on workplace health and well-being, behaviour change, partnerships, and sustainability; Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers consulting on health and sustainability. For five years, she was Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Director General in the UK Government responsible for Health Improvement and Health Inequalities followed by being Director of Chronic Disease and Health Promotion at the World Health Organisation. 

 

She is a high-profile wellbeing and public health leader with a track record of reframing thinking and developing innovative strategy and programmes at the heart of business and government. A strategic systems thinker she is able to bridge private, public and third sector environments, delivering social change and business benefit. 

 

Fiona is a visiting Professor at UCL and teaches at Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.  Fiona’s recent board roles include British Land’s Sustainability Advisory Panel, Marks and Spencer’s Sustainable Retail Advisory Board, and Business in the Community’s Wellbeing Leadership Team.

Professor David Begg

Transport Expert

 

 

Publisher and Chief Executive of Transport Times, the leading UK trade magazine, David Begg is widely known as a commentator on transport issues. He has advised on and worked with all types of public transport and its infrastructure and is a visiting Professor in sustainable transport at Plymouth University.

David is Non-Executive Director of First Group and of BAA, and the Chairman of the Business Infrastructure Commission. He has advised successive governments on HS1 & 2, and led the Heathrow Winter Resilience Enquiry. He was a Board Member of TfL for many years and NED at the Strategic Rail Authority, as well as running a variety of transport-related schemes with the Department of Transport. 

David is a regular public speaker on the future of transport and infrastructure, drawing on examples from his time as Chairman of the Commission for Integrated Transport. He is a Non-Executive Board Member at Heathrow, Chairman of the Sustainability and Operational Risk Committee.
